ARANGETRAM
Arangetram is a Tamil word which literally means to ascend the stage. After several years of rigorous training, once the guru is convinced that the student is well versed in the art form, the arangetram is arranged to introduce the dancer to the informed public. It is the first time the dancer performs a solo margam on stage, hence the term Arangetram.
